Why I love The Radiacode Detector

I spend a lot of time out in the field looking for radioactive rocks and relics everything from old mine finds to uranium-bearing minerals. My favorites? Definitely uraninite and just about anything that carries a trace of uranium. There’s something about hearing the Radiacode go wild that never gets old. That steady build-up of counts, the spike in the spectrum, it’s like the rock is telling its story right there in your hand.

Want to get 18% Black Friday discount on a new Radiacode and want a FREE new specimen to immediatly put the detector / spectrometer to work? Keep reading till the end!

The first time I went underground, I’ll never forget my guide, hauling out this huge old-school survey meter. That thing looked like it belonged in a Cold War museum. Meanwhile, I pulled out my Radiacode, powered it up, and within seconds had a live gamma spectrum on the display of the Radiacode and full details on the phone. I couldn’t help but grin, it felt like stepping from the Stone Age into the Space Age.

I started with the Radiacode 103, and it’s been rock solid. The battery life is amazing, the app is intuitive, and the mapping feature is a real bonus when you’re logging finds in the field. I also like being able to switch between different count rates and units depending on what I’m measuring Bq, µSv/h, CPM it’s all there. Did I mention it's robust? When you're mining everything gets worked hard. The Radiacode never skipped a beat. Later I picked up the Radiacode 110, and that one became my main field unit. Bigger crystal, faster response, great range, and still small enough to fit in a pocket.

I’ve used a lot of different meters over the years, but I’ve stuck with Radiacode. At this point, it’s become my standard reference for comparing activity levels in my collection. When I want a true reading that’s the device I trust.

During the 2025 Christmas sale, Radiacode has been kind enough to let me share a 3% discount for anyone picking up a new device during the 2025 XMas discount on their website. That was a total of 13%! (Note: this promotion has ended!)

At the end of the day, the Radiacodes aren’t just tools, they’re part of the adventure. They’ve earned my trust, and that’s not something I give easily. Now you know why I love the Radiacode detector.

And here’s a little bonus from me, if you send me a copy of your recent Radiacode order confirmation email, I’ll send you a free radioactive specimen from my personal collection. Consider it a small welcome gift from one collector to another.

Keep learning!
Brandon.

The spectrum feature is incredible! I put my RC103 next to a large sample (20g) of Trinite and the spectrum matched a lab cert spectrum exactly. Can't be beat if you don't need alpha.
