Indian Mountain turquoise is a rare, highly collectible variety of American turquoise mined in a remote, high-elevation location on Bald Mountain in Lander County, Nevada. 
Key Features and HistoryLocation: Found in the south range of Bald Mountain, making it one of the most difficult and inaccessible mines to operate in Nevada. 
Discovery: The claim's history is somewhat mysterious, with stories pointing to discovery by a Shoshone sheepherder or local prospectors in the 1970s, followed by major extraction efforts by miners like Ed Mauzy and J.W. Edgar in the 1980s.
Appearance: It is famous for stunning sky-to-deep blue or greenish hues paired with a striking, dark spiderweb or reddish-brown matrix pattern. [1]
