When Covid hit, our plans to live out in the desert were put on hold due to increasing prices for everything from building supplies to gas. We survived "off the grid" for 3 years in the high desert of Arizona and raised our newborn son and 3 year old daughter. When Grandmother needed care in Seattle, we packed up and moved our lives to the Pacific Northwest of the United States. After she passed, we found ourselves with a roof over our heads for a time. We made the decision of what we would enjoy most in the world and could keep us happy together. We chose to start selling minerals and other handmade items on Etsy and our store did very well until they closed our blooming shop with hundreds of 5 star reviews simply due to the radioactive nature of our mineral specimens. Though it was a huge challenge, it turned out to be the best thing that could have happened to our business. We started our website and have only just begun growing it into something that the whole world can enjoy. This is our outlet for creative expression and it allows us to homeschool our children while we hunt for hot rocks on the web and in the ground.
